One More Statistic

Don't End Up A Statistic!

“In 2010, Toyota discovered a .003 percent failure rate on a vehicle they produced with certain brake pads; the company immediately recalled the vehicle as unsafe.

So here?s an institution(marriage) that fails roughly 70 percent of the time, yet remains a legal, wildly popular endeavor and multibillion-dollar-per-year industry, regardless of the massive financial and emotional costs of failure. ” – James J Sexton, Author of ” If You're In My Office, It's Already Too Late – A Divorce Lawyers Guide To Staying Together ”

While this is data on the status of marriage in USA, we tend to dismiss it.

We are Indians. Our society is different.

Of course, statistics state that only 3 % of marriages end up in divorce.

Does it mean that we Indians are living in a marital bliss?

Is it really true that all the married are happily living after?

On the contrary, many marriages are broke.

People continue to prolong that due to fear of the society.

But what's the reality?

Divorce rate among the educated in India is on the rise because women are increasingly self reliant and they don't need the ‘support' of a man.

If you think Christian marriages are not part of this, brace yourself to be disappointed.

Circling back to the quote, if India too reaches that kind of divorce, please don't be surprised.

Why am I painting doom and gloom today?

I just don't want those who read me end up as a statistic.

While a drop of water can not break the dam, when they gather together, that can bring destruction.

Song of Solomon 2:15 NKJV
Catch us the foxes, The little foxes that spoil the vines, For our vines have tender grapes.

It's the small matters which cause the large amount of damage. While you may think it may be of no consequence, when left unattended, then I can only say sorry.

So, what is the solution?

It's time, we Christians take the word of God a bit serious and start working for a strong marriage. (This applies to any part of the world you may be living.)

Of course, it takes work. I'm sorry to say Zamora and Uber Eats or Swiggy can't deliver it home.

Then, we pay attention to His words. Especially those which teach us on how we can become better.

Better husband.
Better son.
Better father.

So on and so forth.
